FAQ

What is remote blood pressure monitoring?

Remote blood pressure monitoring allows you to track your blood pressure from home using state-of-the-art cuffless devices. These devices use advanced optical technology, similar to what’s found in smartwatches, to passively monitor your vitals without any discomfort—you won’t feel a thing! Plus, it’s completely private, so you might even forget you’re being monitored. All your health data is sent securely to help our team evaluate the state of your cardiovascular health effectively.

I have a smartwatch; what's so special about the blood pressure patch you offer?

We use state-of-the-art medical-grade wearable technology to monitor your blood pressure patterns for 24 hours. While smartwatches can be useful, they do not monitor and analyze blood pressure.

My smartwatch monitors so much more; what’s the big deal about blood pressure?

Blood pressure is one of the most critical indicators of heart and brain health and a key predictor of serious conditions like heart disease, stroke, and kidney failure. Unlike other vitals, high blood pressure often has no symptoms but can quietly damage your organs over time. By closely monitoring blood pressure, doctors can catch changes early, adjust treatment plans, and help prevent potentially life-threatening conditions—something other vitals simply cannot achieve on their own.

Why measure blood pressure for 24 hours?

24-hour blood pressure monitoring gives a complete picture by tracking daytime and nighttime levels, showing average values, and detecting if blood pressure drops during sleep (a healthy sign). This method is much more accurate than single office readings and helps identify any risks for heart issues.

What else are the devices used for?

The medical grade patch that we use also tracks Pulse Rate, Mean Arterial Pressure, Cardiac Output, and Systemic Vascular Resistance. These extra insights help doctors understand the causes of high blood pressure and the overall state of your health.

Will my insurance pay for your service?

Currently, our fees aren’t covered by insurance.

How often should I have my blood pressure checked using medical-grade devices or in clinic?

Health experts recommend that everyone over 18 get their blood pressure checked at least once a year. We suggest yearly checks, and more often if any risks are identified.

I already see a doctor once a year for my annual; why should I also use a digital blood pressure device?

While a yearly visit provides a single blood pressure reading, that can be affected by “white coat syndrome,” where anxiety during the appointment may elevate your numbers. On the flip side, some people experience “masked hypertension,” where their blood pressure appears normal in the office but is elevated at other times. A digital blood pressure device captures hundreds of readings over 24 hours, reflecting your blood pressure during everyday activities and even while you sleep. This comprehensive monitoring can help diagnose hypertension, which a single doctor’s visit may miss, ensuring you receive a more accurate assessment of your health.’

Is remote monitoring safe and secure?

Yes, we use secure, encrypted platforms to protect your health data and privacy.

Simply contact our support team, and we’ll assist with rescheduling.

If I sign up for this, does it mean that I don’t have to see my doctor anymore?
